Operating a fleet of six pizza & freezer vans out of the city of Lviv, feeding orphanages, community halls and all kinds of shelters, full of Internally Displaced People (> 8million IDPs in Ukraine today, many more than those who have sought shelter in the West). Our reach is now extending; as on 07 July, two vans travelled nearly 1,000 kms further South East to near Odessa – where the video above was filmed.
While our activities are now almost entirely based within Ukraine (where the greatest need is), we continue to work with trusted Polish contacts to feed refugees taking shelter within Poland. As an example, ‘Poland Welcomes’ is housing 500 refugees and we are supporting their food bill every month – and supplying them with fresh fruit and veg.
Also supporting other Ukrainian based agencies (with money & material) going into the most war ravaged and desperate parts of Eastern Ukraine. We are providing supplies of food, medical equipment & hygiene products to a number of well-regarded local organisations (after significant due diligence), that have the networks to distribute beyond our reach. See the links below to 2 such organisations.
We remain in touch with our original base at the Medyka border post, which continues to operate with other local volunteers & UK organisations (like LoveBristol), operating from our original Przemysl depot. There they provide information and support (food, accommodation, & visa preparation etc), to those refugees who have expressed a wish to come to Scotland.
